VICTORIA McNORRILL

Our careers hardly ever take the path we planned for ourselves. And I am no exception. I've always loved storytelling, creating visual art and engaging and analyzing culture. I ended up with a BA in Mass Communications, and loved my studies. However, once I started working, none of it scratched the itch in my brain that I hoped for, so I left the communications realm completely. The next few years involved me throwing mud at the wall, hoping something would stick, and feeling more and more lost every time nothing did. Thankfully, I found my spark again while learning how to code in my spare time. Within a month, I was enrolled at Georgia Tech to earn my certification in web development.

Software engineering blends all my passions, and my creativity, perspective, and analytical mind are invaluable skills. I love building something new, whether it is an entire application or an additional feature, and think through how a user will interact with it. I love debugging and pushing a fix that makes an user experience better. I love what I do, and I'm dedicated to my craft.

My expertise includes object-oriented design, problem solving, responsive design, Clean Code practices, and React and its frameworks (i.e., React Native, Nextjs). I know JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Git and Github. I'm a quick learner, and always document what I know given proper training and time, I know I can master a new tech stack and have training materials ready for the next hire.
